Such a bunker can prove to be very useful if you live in an area where you are constantly threatened by a natural disaster, such as tornadoes. The most important part of this project is to have a large space that you own, so you can start digging a hugehole in the ground. This will be the place where you build your bunker, by placing a shipping container inside. The hole in the pictures is 12 feet deep. Make sure to also include some steps, so you can reach the container without an effort. Check out the video from the link and learn more about building your own bunker.

CONEX boxes are not meant to hold the loads you are placing on them.

If you pile dirt on top and around a shipping container it will eventually collapse. The metal is very thin and will rot out quickly. You need concrete slab around it if you want it to last.
